Equus Centre is situated in Granville Center, 5 km. from historic Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, Canada. The Centre consists of 220 acres with the North Mountain behind and the Annapolis River in front of the farm.
The facility includes trails, a hunt course, dressage ring and jumping ring. An indoor arena provides shelter from the weather.
The school was founded in 1984 by Jennifer Weidhaas, B.A., B.Ed., who is also a Level 1 coach with Equine Canada. Jennifer has been active as a teacher and competitor in Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia from 1976 -1998. Gary, who works for Farmer’sDairy joined Jen in 1998 when they married. Although not a rider , he has been an endless source of support and ‘muscle’ in farm life. The aim of the school is to provide a sound knowledge of riding and horsemanship for levels from novice to experienced, while fostering an attitude of friendship, cooperation and sharing among campers and staff.
Enrolment in the summer camp will be limited to ten students between the ages of nine and eighteen.
